PHOTO TAKING IS NICHT GUT :(

I've been trying to take photos of people drinking tea as I want to make a book of tea drinkers in different social situations to show how diverse tea drinking in our culture is, but it's harder than I thought it would be. I can't find myself to approach people who I've never met before and ask if I can take photos of them. It's not just about taking a photograph, the composition of it is important and asking someone if I can take several shots of them is a daunting thing to do. I'm not sure where to go on this project at the minute... :(
